Ashok Leyland to invest up to Rs 325 crore in Optare and Rs 500 crore in Hinduja Housing

Ashok Leyland Limited announced that its board of directors approved investments up to GBP 25 million, approximately Rs 325 crore, in Optare Plc, a U.K.-based subsidiary, and up to Rs 500 crore in equity shares of Hinduja Housing Finance Limited, a step-down subsidiary, through a secondary purchase from Hinduja Leyland Finance Limited. The investments in Optare Plc. will increase Ashok Leyland’s shareholding from 93.28% to 93.49%, while the investment in Hinduja Housing Finance Limited will result in a direct shareholding of 8.90% and an indirect holding of 55.68%.
