Local stocks trade flat

The key domestic indices traded flat. Nifty 50, Nifty Auto and Nifty Bank shares advanced.
As per provisional closing data, the S&P BSE Sensex, up 113.61 points to 78,079.96. The Nifty 50 index 0 points or remained flat to 24,435.95. In the past three trading sessions, the Nifty and Sensex edged lower by 0.60% and 0.59%, respectively.
The broader market lagged behind the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index added 0.29% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index inched up 0.09%.
The market breadth was negative. On the BSE, 2188 shares rose and 2237 shares fell. A total of 176 shares were unchanged.
Tata Steel Ltd was the top traded stock in NIFTY50 index today, recording a quantity of 364.84 lakh shares and registered a sharp increase of 53.83% compared to last one-week’s average daily volume. The stock has eased 0.49% in last one-month and has spiked 16.26% over last one year.
HDFC Bank Ltd was the second highest traded stock in NIFTY50 index today, recording a quantity of 269.93 lakh shares and registered a sharp decline of 20.61% compared to last one-week’s average daily volume. The stock has plunged around 10.87% in last one-month and has lost significant ground 25.99% over last one year.
